Headline- US Vice President: Israel must back two-state peace solution

Vice President Joe Biden challenged Israel to back a two-state peace agreement with the Palestinians and urged the Jewish state's new leadership to demonstrate its commitment to such a solution. In a speech Tuesday to the leading pro-Israel lobby in the United States, Biden said Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's government should stop constructing new Jewish settlements and ease restrictions on Palestinians.

"Israel has to work toward a two-state solution," Biden told the annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. "You're not going to like my saying this, but not build more settlements, dismantle existing outposts and allow Palestinians freedom of movement."

Mystical Paths Blogger Reb Akiva challenged Vice President Joe Biden to visit Palestinian areas of the West Bank and Gaza without his security escort in a car with Israeli license plates and a yalmukah on his head.

"Mr. Biden will quickly learn the level of Palestinian commitment to peace as he drives through Bethlehem, Ramallah, Nablus and Gaza City looking like a Jew. I would like to hear his recommendations regarding Palestinian freedom of movement after such a tour, should he still be able to speak.

You're not going to like me saying this, but the United States should stop constructing new settlements in Arizona, Southern California and Texas, dismantle existing ones such as San Diego, El Paso, and Albuquerque, and return them to Mexico. Similarly, the US should stop impeding the Mexican's freedom of movement through their historical territories. This is only a small part of the US's land grab and national oppression, given the number of Native American/Indian nations currently under occupation."
